Over the last year consciousnyc.com has brought the latest and greatest informative event listings in NYC. So we are proud to present with great "Ras"pect the return of the Black Star Liner. Celebrating Marcus Mosiah Garvey Birth & bridging the African gap inna NYC state of mind.
In 2008, like in the 1920s, Repatriation in the physical state was virtually impossible so only in the mental would repatriation exist. So all persons aboard this 1st annual Black Star Liner boatride will stake claim in a new annual event marking One Aim! One Destiny! Consciousnyc.com is streaming with self awareness, pride and community motivation to create a spiritual awakening amongst the people through a symbolic boatride of unity.
We will host this evening of celebration on board the Paddlewheel Queen. We will be serving a great complimentary selection of quality Caribbean and African cuisines. Music throughout the night will be inspired entirely by Marcus Garvey and Africa. The current artist roster spans the African Diaspora, Hosting the event will be street movements Jah Logic of haiti descent from Jamaica; Stateside Revolution and Sirius Radio host DJ Gringo lays down heavy doses of conscious reggae. DJ Sirak from Ethiopia blends African Vibes from Fela Kuti to Dead Prez and on the rooftop Live African Drumming. Plus free after party with ticketstub @ Revival Reggae Sundays at Lox Lounge.
